Andrea Koehle Jones

Andrea is an award-winning documentary producer (TVOntario 1st Prize News for a documentary about homelessness that she shot, produced and edited). She is also a videographer and photographer. Andrea has been a photojournalist at as daily Canadian newspaper and her photos have also appeared BBC News (bbc.com), CBC News (cbc.ca), CBC4Kids, EcoParent Magazine, Gripped Magazine, Rossland News, Northern Daily News and more.

Andrea was a writer/producer at CBCNews as well as a National Weekend News Producer. She worked with one anchor and one technician to run CBC Newsworld’s weekend overnight newscasts. This job included collecting breaking news and video images, writing, producing and coordinating with the news anchor and studio technicians.

Andrea is also a photo editor gathering photos and coordinating photo assignments with development partners around the world for children’s environmental education and development assignments in the Global South. This is part of her job as the founder of The ChariTree Foundation and co-founder of The FirstLine Foundation. She also coordinated photos as a communications strategist for various environmental groups and her photos were featured in the national MacLaren McCann Sea to Sky car advertising campaign.

As a freelance photographer/videographer, Andrea is available for freelance assignments across Canada and around the world.  Some of the photos below are from some of the world’s toughest places including Petauke, Zambia. Aleppo, Syria, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and Canada’s Great Bear Rainforest.
