The Wish Trees children’s book is inspiring little tree planters and wishers everywhere.

A children’s tree planting book introduces young readers to the wonder of trees

PRESS RELEASE | October 7, 2021

It is never too early to get children digging and planting trees. The Wish Trees: How Planting Trees Can Help Make the World a Better Place is an inspiring picture book for the youngest readers. Rooted in the idea that every child can help make a difference, this whimsical children’s tree planting book introduces children to the fun of tree planting as they meet kids around the globe planting Wish Trees and making wishes.

The Wish Trees encourages children to plant a local tree seedling with their parents or teachers and then make a wish for anything — especially for the world. After that, every time they return to visit and care for their tree they can make more wishes!

If your child asks you to help plant a Wish Tree, jump on this opportunity to learn and grow together.

“I am planting a Wish Tree so I can help make the world a better place.” — Andrea Koehle Jones

How to Plant a Wish Tree

A Canadian children’s environmental advocate has just released an extended edition of The Wish Trees and is donating 100% of book profits to The ChariTree Foundation and other children’s environmental education charities and programs. The book was inspired by her A Tree for Every Child Campaign.

Kids will discover the wonder of trees and enjoy searching for different animals and tree names with each new page. Thoughtful, empowering and beautifully written by journalist and children’s environmental education advocate Andrea Koehle Jones, The Wish Trees features illustrations by New York Times best-selling illustrator Alicia Padrón.

She says the second edition released on Sept 15, 2021 of The Wish Trees includes a bonus: “How to Plant a Wish Tree.”

Planting a tree is a message of hope

Young children will fall in love with trees, learn how trees can help our planet and begin to understand that they are never too little to help the world. This second edition of The Wish Trees includes a bonus: “How to Plant a Wish Tree.”

“Children are concerned about the future of the planet and they want to help. I was inspired to write this by so many children who loved planting trees and were excited to help the world.”

Based in Greater Vancouver, The ChariTree Foundation supports local, national and international children’s school and summer camp environmental education programs. It’s about getting kids outside more. Let’s ~ give them opportunities to learn, grow with nature, and contribute positively to their ever-changing world.

The ChariTree Foundation is also an United Nations climate observer organization and Koehle Jones will be attending The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, in Glasgow this November.
